Which came First?

Oh so the toy was launched in 2006, funny because the anime series didn't start in Japan until Spring 2007. Game-Set-Match.

To defeat this whole "Show first, toy later" mentality, there is an article that dictates how the toy was pitched in New York, Spin Masters picked it up, asked SEGA Toys to handle Asian distribution and got Nelvana and TMS to create a TV Show, I'll look for the link later. Yeesh, what a terribly written article. It looks like a pre-teen with poor spelling transcribed a Bakugan press release. User:TheFarix asked me to explain why I think this article needs more work. Here you go:

1. From an outsider's point of view, it seems clear that the game is at least as relevant as the animé, and deserves more mention. Come on, the show is about kids playing a card game. Notice which results are higher at http://www.google.com/search?q=bakugan+battle+brawlers
2. Farix defends the page by saying it's comparable to other pages about animé series. He's right. For example, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Dragon Ball also have big tags at the top about needed improvements.
3. There are weird grammar errors ("He is very quick to temper") and the sentence structure is very stilted. I'm guessing a lot of the edits are from Japan, and I congratulate you on knowing a heck of a lot more English than I know Japanese, but still the text should be better.
4. You have overly lengthy descriptions of the characters, and pretty much zero information about anything else. What is Pyrus, or "Haos Angelo", or "Ventus-attribute"? What does it mean to be a "battler"? Is it different from a "brawler"? And the biggie which I mentioned months ago: What is a Bakugan?

Here are a few corrections for you. First, the anime series is called Bakugan Battle Brawlers, however, the name of the game is called Bakugan. Since the article is name for the anime series, it will predominantly cover the anime series. There was a separate article on the game, Bakugan, originally at Bakugan (toys). However, there was so little information that could be supported using reliable sources and a general lack of reliable sources to support notability, it was merged here until a fuller article can be written. reality please?

The first scentence in this article sounds like it was written by either a fan or an advertiser. most of this article is written from a veiwpoint of the show being real. perhaps "about" instead of "based on"? Keeping an eye on this article

There have been several attempts to insert game guide-like information, such as power ratings and ability cards, back into the article after it was cleaned up. So I'll be keeping an eye on this for a while. I like to remind everyone that Wikipeida is not a game guide. Also, the article should not list every single character that appears in the series. Only list the main characters that appear throughout the series. New Vestoria has no Japanese Release?

This goes to the planned 2010 sequel "Gundalian Invaders". I know it's actually good that the series gets an English release firsthand but I think it's kinda unfair to the Japanese fans to the series since New Vestoria and Gundalian Invaders are forever not gonna have a Japanese release, even though the animation studio behind the anime is TMS.

Well, that's because New Vestroia wasn't exactly created by the Japanese creators, so one could consider it an "unofficial official sequel".

Funny, I was going to post here to see some peoples opinions regarding how we should handle the pages when it airs. Anyways, the series is created in Japan and is still very much Japanese produced. The issue at hand is that it was released outside of Japan before an official decision to broadcast it locally there. Some information recently appeared, to which I added it to the "New Vestoria" page, that indicates that the series is planned for a Spring 2010 release in Japan on TV Tokyo, so it's atleast scheduled right now. On that note, the only real issue is how we handle some of the title, episode dates, and such on the episode list page, given the series was originally aired outside of Japan. Any ideas? Most of what we already do should be done. (Ie we list the dub title first then the Japanese etc) I also belive that we should list the English dates first since even though this is a Japanaese produced series the English episodes were released first and therefore are still the original relaese dates regardless of where the show was made. Fixed Error

Just to let everyone know, there was an error with the villans listed in section two in the article. They discluded Maskerade who is Hal-G's assistant. At first he was thought to be a boy, but later it was found that it was Alice and Hal-G was Alice's grandfather, Michale. I took the liberty of fixing that minor error.

Bakugan Dimensions - Wrong Information

Attention: To the author of this wiki page...

The Bakugan Dimensions information under Media>Gundalian Invaders is wrong. Currently, it states, "The third series will tie into the global online game project known as Bakugan Dimensions, (devolpled by Activision Blizzard), which will release for the Nintendo DS and Wii, Sony PlayStation, and Microsoft Xbox platforms sometime later in the Spring of 2010."

This information should be changed to:

"The third series of Bakugan, the Gundalian Invaders line, ties into the online game known as Bakugan Dimensions, which will release for the PC/Mac."

FYI: Bakugan Dimensions is not a console title. This is strictly an online PC/Mac game.

The current source is dated and doesn't support much of the section as it currently stands. If you can help on the sourcing end, it will help correct much of the "incorrect" information. Meaning of "Bakugan"

As far as I know, Bakugan is the combination of "Exploding" and another word. "爆" is Japanese for "Explosion", which you can see in the Bakugan logos. Japanese-Canadian?

Could someone clear up what makes this Japanese-Canadian rather than Japanese? What involvement have Canadians had in this besides licensing it? CüRlyTüRkey^Talk_Contribs 23:23, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

In the credits, Nelvana is listed one of the producers for the international version (both on Nelvana's copy and TMS's international copy). For whatever reason, it's missing on the Japanese credits, though the same thing happened with the latest Beyblade. Spin Master is also listed as a producer. I'll see if I can get a screenshot from the International master later. No. To explain the credits you see, TMS has the habit of sending licensors modified masters, usually removing episode titles, opening credit information and what not. Usually the said credits are then moved to the ending sequence and are translated into english. The Chinese version, which this image was taken from, uses TMS's international master, as opposed to using the original japanese masters. As to why Nelvana and Spin Master are not credited in the original Japanese credits, I'm not sure. Then again, I also want to point out Sega Toys and Sega Corporation is also not credited in the original version too. Mendinso (talk) 14:37, 21 October 2011 (UTC)

Origin of series

In this edit, Norozco1 calls the series "Japanese-American", but provides no reference or context to explain that addition. I reverted the edit explaining, "Unclear from content how this is an American co-production. Lead lists two Japanese companies. Please source." Norozco1 undid my revision, writing, "This franchise was licensed by Nelvana, and was released in North America on Cartoon Network, So theres really no need for any of that." Norozco1, I think you are confused. We don't describe a movie/TV series/song/book's national origin by the nations that licensed or released it. Origin is determined by the companies that created the work. If the series was produced in Japan and/or funded by Japanese companies, the originating nation is Japan. The fact that the movie Top Gun may have been licensed for broadcast in China, doesn't make it an American-Chinese movie. The onus is on you to demonstrate with sources that the series is an American co-production, and until you do, the content doesn't belong in the article, or in any article that you've made similar changes to. Infobox flags

Per WP:INFOBOXFLAG, we don't use flags in the infobox. An IP hopper has submitted this twice. [1][2]. In this edit they also added US's Cartoon Network to the list of original broadcasters, but there is no indication this is a US series. |network= is for original broadcast networks only.
