Older stuff

A link to a Freewhere BACnet utility was removed as spam on April 18th 2007... I believe that this is a useful link as it points to one of the only free BACnet explorer like utilities out there. It does come from a commercial site but they are not charing for it so how is it spam?

Chipkin does not charge for a limited sample of what the utility can do, but does charge is you want the full version or to use it in commercial applications. This link appears to be nothing more then an advertisement to me and I would be surprised if funvill was not an employee or closely affiliated with Chipkin. SoManySpammers 21:13, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Conformance Classes obsolete / BBIBs

The article talks about Conformance Classes under "Conformance Classes and the Device PICS".

The concept of conformance classes is obsolete. It is not part of the standard 135-2004.

Fair use rationale for Image:BACnetLargeLogo.png

Image:BACnetLargeLogo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Outgoing Links

The outgoing links such as see also do not add value to people looking for information on bacnet. They seem to suggest that this page is a switchboard for members of various bacnet user groups and bacnet developers. That is not the intention of this (or any other ) Wikipedia article. Wikipedia exists to provide accurate information for readers who wish to learn about a subject. I will remove links in a few weeks time unless someone joins this discussion and argues persuasively that these outgoing links are consistent with Wikipedia’s requirements which can be read at “What Wikipedia is not” – specifically read “Wikipedia is not a mirror or a repository of links, images, or media files” which specifically says wiki is not “Mere collections of public domain or other source material”. The link to Brightcore is a link to a page which has information about a minor commercial product and does not add value to this article. EdwinBtys (talk) 15:47, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

This section of the article is useful for people interested in testing but doesnt provide information on bacnet. If you are interested then please make a specific page and move the text.
