merging

edit

I suggest the pages be merged under the title "Azadi Tower", and we can say there that: "Azadi Tower is located in Azadi Squre..." etc.

Any takers?--Zereshk 16:04, 30 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good. AucamanTalk 01:29, 13 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

CAD??

edit

The article claims that the design i.e., number and shape of marble blocks, was designed by computer. Really? In 1969?? --46.51.44.171 (talk) 05:37, 4 October 2015 (UTC)rReply

According to the website of Hossein Amanat, the designer of the tower, computers were used "to define its complex woven surfaces," it was apparently a new technology. I've edited the article, with citations, to reflect this. AJORDAN (talk) 21:19, 20 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

URGENT: A user renamed the page in both the English and Persian Wikipedia pages

edit

The official name of the tower has been the Azadi Tower since 1979. But someone under the name of @IRFakeFreeAN hijacked both the English and Persian Wikipedia pages and did a page-move vandalism in both versions and renamed both versions into the "Shahyad Tower" (the former name before the Iranian Revolution). I've just renamed the English Wikipedia page back and removed any indications that the "Shahyad Tower" is the current name in both the English and Persian Wikipedia pages, but I can't move the Persian Wikipedia page.

I'm neutral in this page, but please follow the official (after 1979) name! Also please forward this to the Persian Wikipedia admins, as well as maybe Wikidata as well, since I can't move the Persian Wikipedia page (I might not be autoconfirmed yet in the Persian Wikipedia). Garbled text in section headed "Museum"

edit

There us a sentence fragment: "...and miniatures highlighted milestones in the country's history up to the 19th century, which were represented by two painted panels from Empress and the structure was to represent Farah Pahlavi as in is stated in some ancient texts." Farao Pahlavi was born in 1938, so I don't see how she could have been mentioned in ancient texts. Weka511 (talk) 06:26, 4 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
