Origin of band name

Does anyone have information regarding origin of band name? Does Atari have any relation to computer Atari ST? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Calimero (talk • contribs) 14:20, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

Their old website had a schematic showing their setup and I remember it having an Atari ST.

when i first started listening to their pure rage, the sound was extacy. they didn't want a riot. they wanted mental chaos. they broke the control that the media had over them by expressing pure etherial primal rage. beautiful in its own respect. however. past is the past. i think they fulfilled their purpose. this is the last time i will listen to this cd. sounds like white noise to me now. peace. ;)

Can I have your cd? ;) I just started listening to them on launchcast, which occasionally has some gems (though most of the obscure punk bands I like aren't on there). Was ATR or A.Empire envolved into copyleft movement ?

I don't think so, but Alec has said in various interviews that he doesn't mind people trading ATR's music for free. He mainly seemed upset about MP3s with poor encoding. Some of their lyrics include "if you steal this record, we don't care / and if you buy this record, be aware / they want to cut an advert out of your dreams". He has said that it's fine for fans to listen to the music for free, but that people who want to use his music in advertisements, etc., will be made to pay. I guess you could say ATR's music is free for noncommercial use, in a way.

One thing that struck me as odd is that I have a copy of 60 Second Wipe Out that I bought in a used cd shop. Anyway, the front of the cd jacket has the following printed in shiny gold letter: For promontional use only. Sale or other transfer is prohibited. Must be returned on demand of recording company. I've seen the same thing on another copy for sale in a different used cd shop. Does anyone know what is up with that? Ironically enough, those lyrics are from that cd too. ep names

i've added an article for all the eps and singles. i've include "EP" and "E.P." into the article titles according to how the title appears on the pressing of the release. --AlexOvShaolin 20:06, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Reunion

The article only gives Alec's vision about Hannin's retirement. The complete story has been online on their internet site, and offical facebook, including Hannin's answers telling Alec did everything without her, and didn't use the vocals she sent him.

Read the article that's cited. he had psychiatric issues and died from a drug overdose of non-specific drugs. He wasn't a drug addict. Also look at ATR'S tumblr. CX Kidtronik redirect not authorized

CX Kidtronik had his own Wikipedia page until someone, probably from the ATR camp, has redirected his page to Atari Teenage Riot's page. Now CX Kidtronik's page is no longer visible.
