GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose, spelling, and grammar):   b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
Some MOS tweaks may be needed here and there.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (reference section):   b (inline citations to reliable sources):   c (OR):   d (copyvio and plagiarism):
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects):   b (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
Fair representation without bias:   Some parts about the "Mario Kart knockoff" can be changed a bit to make it more NPOV.
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free content have non-free use rationales):   b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
Great use of images but captions may need some fixing.
  7. Overall: Nice work on the article but there are some MOS and caption tweaks to do here and there.
    Pass/Fail:

First pass edit

  • In the game, the player takes control of one of eleven characters though only seven are available at first, each with differing capabilities. The wording is a bit awkward here... can you please fix it?

  • Atari Karts garnered mixed reception from critics, all of which accused it for being a Mario Kart knock-off This is kinda contradictory; the first part suggests mixed reception while the second part suggests negative reception. Can you please reword it? Also I think that "knock-off" is too strong of a word here; a lot of the sources rather seem to suggest that it was "similar" or "copied" from Mario Kart.

  • Unlike Super Mario Kart, there are no time trial or battle modes present. This is a bit ambiguous... can you please specify the "time trial or battle mode" in Super Mario Kart as well as the difference between the two games in the article if possible?
I decided to remove the sentence... Roberth Martinez (talk) 21:53, 7 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • During gameplay, power-ups placed at predetermined points in the tracks as tiles can be obtained and these give special abilities to a player's kart if the vehicle passes over them and used to gain an advantage. These power-ups can either benefit or harm those who have picked them up, ranging from a rabbit icon that give players a speed boost for a few seconds to a red icon that reverse the vehicle's controls for brief period of time as well. On two-player races, a green icon that reverse the opponent's controls is the only offensive power-up available on the game. If the player has no lives when they rank out, the game is over, though players can pick up a heart icon that is placed on a fixed spot on the track to gain an extra live. Can you please change the wording in this paragraph if possible? It is a bit awkward and ungrammatical in some sections.

  • Impressed with the demo, Atari decided to make a game with a "cutesy" atmosphere by combining F-Zero and Super Mario Kart. By combining what elements of F-Zero and Super Mario Kart?
I gave the interview a listen once again (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQrINIia6JY&t=3138s). Bill Rehbock stated that Atari decided to make a game that combined F-Zero and Mario Kart. He did not state which elements they took. Atari just combined the two games. Roberth Martinez (talk) 23:10, 7 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • The game was formally announced in early 1995 under the working title Kart and was also previewed under the names Super Kart and Super Karts, the latter of which led to confusion in a supplementary July 1995 issue by Edge magazine that Virgin Interactive's similarly named SuperKarts was being converted to the Jaguar. Try breaking this down into several sentences that are shorter and reword to increase readability.

  • In a retrospective outlook, The Atari Times' Gregory D. George criticized the lack of interesting power-ups and limited computer AI that resulted in perfect drivers as the player's competition Rewording this for clarity might be nice.

  • Last but not least, the caption that says "Gameplay screenshot" can be better. What specific level/stage was it? What features of the game do the image illustrate?

  • Also, is allgames.com, nexgam.de, ataritimes.com and theretrohour.com reliable? I just wanted to know.
1) AllGame was a video game database owned by All Media Network that was active between 1998-2014. I used them to not rely too much on the game's manual and reviews explaining gameplay elements.
2) neXGam is a German gaming website stated in 1998, originally as a Sega-centric publication before rebranding into neXGam sometime in the 2000s (https://www.nexgam.de/Nexgam/%C3%9CBER-NEXGAM). They have their editorial team, which has changed over time (https://www.nexgam.de/team)
3) The Atari Times was originally a newsletter started by the reviewer (Gregory D. George) back in 1996 (1). They transitioned to an online format sometime in the 90s or in the 2000s.
4) The Retro Hour is an independent podcast started in 2016 (https://theretrohour.com/about/). They have interviewed numerous people in the gaming industry after their formation (https://theretrohour.com/). I used their podcast interview with Rehbock, as it contained development information about the game.

Nice job correcting the grammar and explaining the sourcing. I've copy edited the article a bit for clarity and readability. Overall, excellent work on the article, so Pass. #prodraxis connect 15:12, 8 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
