Category:WOSM member organizations?

Excuse my for writing in poor English, I haven't practised for years...

In WOSM, especially in the European region, there are many National Scouting Organisations, which are federations itself - some of them of more than 5 associations (eg Scoutisme Français). I propose to include al this national submembers in the above mentioned category. Could we do the same with the ASC - even if has a very special (unique?) membership status with WOSM?

If we include only the direct members, we must also remove Norges Speiderforbund, which is part of a federation. --jergen 20:02, 19 July 2005 (UTC)

Last I heard, in Europe, those Scouting organizations were members through a central association, as WOSM only allows one group per country to be a member. In Canada, it's Scouts Canada, so this group is a member via Scouts Canada and not directly. --File:Ottawa flag.png Spinboy 00:06, 20 July 2005 (UTC)

Your interpretation of the European situation is only partly right, in most European countries the WOSM membership organization is a true federation of independent organization (with e.g. different scout laws, different uniforms, different ranks etc.) - but it doesn't answer the question:

Should scouting associations with indirect WOSM-membership (affiliated or as part of a central federation) be categorized in Category:WOSM Member Organization or in Category:Scouting? I'm with the first since it groups the associations in an easy understandable way. --jergen 08:01, 20 July 2005 (UTC)

"One colors"?

"...in Canada there is only one official colors for the neckerchief..."

Shouldn't that be "one official colour set" or "set of colours" or "colour scheme" etc.? And by the way, in Canada, there's no such word as "color". That's the U.S.American bastardization.

No need for obscure abbreviations

L'Association des Scouts du Canada operates under the name "Scouts du Canada" (see www.http://scoutsducanada.ca/). The name "Scouts du Canada" is the registered trade mark of L'Association. Why use obscure abbreviations like ASC rather than use the full name L'Association des Scouts du Canada? Logo

I have changed the logo because the one that was there previously is no more official. As the communication coordinator of l'Association des scouts du Canada, I can tell you, that, in 2012, l'Association des scouts du Canada changed its logo to the purple one. I have replaced it as there is no need to duplicate the already existing purple logo as you did, and we do not delete historical emblems if they are significantly different.

If I understand correctly, File:Association des Scouts du Canada.svg is no longer the current emblem. If it is to be kept in the article, then there need to be related content and the rationale needs to be updated, as it indicated this is the primary logo. --  Gadget850 ^talk 02:22, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
