Merge this Jain page (Asrava) with Buddhist page (Asava)? edit

It is unclear to me whether there are enough differences between the Jain and the Buddhist philosophical terms (Asrava and Asava) to warrant separate pages, rather than a single combined page. Clearly both traditions reference the term at times in Sanskrit (i.e., Āśrava). Do we have sources (or expert editors) who can clarify (both compare and contrast) how the meanings of these terms have evolved within the different traditions? It seems like different scholars may choose to explain the terms using slightly different emphasis and imagery.... but do these reflect differences that would warrant different pages? Right now, there are 2 pages that evolved separately: Asrava (Jain) and Asava (Buddhist). Health Researcher (talk) 18:41, 1 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Although the root is the same, meaning in both philosophies is vastly different. It does not require merger.--Indian Chronicles (talk) 04:33, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
You may want to check these two sources that differentiate meaning of Asrava between the two philosophies:
It is quite evident that there is quite a lot of differences between the two terms. Most of the terms that are common between Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism, like Dharma, Nirvana. Moksa, Samsara ect. have different articles.--Indian Chronicles (talk) 04:51, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
