Contested deletion edit

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... We all know that much less notable bands have pages on Wikipedia and never get tagged for deletion. This band, Art in America has actually had notable hits on the U.S. Mainstream Rock charts and has worked with notable bands and producers. --Ghoul flesh  talk 17:12, 24 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Additional Research edit

From Chris Flynn (aka Chris Ruetenik). Our band did chart on Billboard and we are listed on the ALLMUSIC site with a review: [1], as well as numerous other site mentions. Will be doing more work on this page, adding 6 other singles we have released, as well as referencing our King Biscuit Flower Hour show (now on the Wolfgang's Vault site. Also I am an ASCAP songwriter, will add that as reference, etc. I can be contacted through Facebook or gmail at crootnik@gmail.com Crootnik talk 23:12, 24 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Again from Chris Flynn sent email with Artist permission to use the album cover to the permissions-commons@wikimedia.org email address. Crootnik talk 23:12, 24 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

added the Album cover info to the Discopraphy section along with citation and link to the artist. This is significant, in that the album is featured in a BEST OF album cover book published by TASCHEN (german publisher). added citation for that as well. Crootnik talk 17:19, 29 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

added another citation (to a German site )to verify the album cover is indeed in the book. Crootnik talk 16:22, 30 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

added Gamelan bell tree to percussion instruments used in this music. Our harpist, formally in The Trees Community, acquired many of the instruments, used in Art in America, from her time with the Trees Community musical band. Crootnik talk 23:12, 24 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

added the Pay to play linkage to the main section. Seemed to me it should be linked for a description of what Pay to play means , in the music concert business in Los Angeles. Still a very real issue and a stumbling block for all acts to overcome in that city. Crootnik talk 23:11, 24 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

added the 2 different concerts. also the Album cover was removed by bot. I did send the permission from the artist Ioannis at Dangerous Age [2] , to the Wikipedia commons-permissions email address. Was removed anyway. I probably set the photo info up incorrectly because this album cover was a work for hire. probably better anyway. We use it as our branding, and it looked very good as the main photo for the article. Crootnik talk 16:00, 25 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

changed the inception date of the band, was 1967. We had just moved to Detroit in 1967, (from Cleveland). I was only 15. Father performed from 1975 to 1979. Art in America began in the spring of 1980. from Chris Flynn Crootnik talk 21:55, 7 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

added T Lavitz to as a guest keyboardist for the Art in America album with link to his Wikipedia page. Crootnik talk 22:36, 2 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

added the new artnet site news story about how the band chose their name. Title of article is: "What major magazine has an 80's Rock Band named after it ? Why, it's Art in America". Article is written by Brian Boucher published January 5, 2018.

album is set for re-release, in September 2018 with cover art (completed) again by Ioannis, on Mascot Records with other new material. I removed the reference to 2012 and 2013 and the title. It will be called Cloudborn by Art in America. Full original line-up. Management by Jim Pitulski. (Chris Flynn aka Chris Ruetenik)Crootnik talk 16:08, 15 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
