PLEASE FIND THE NOTE ON THE ORIGINAL WEB SITE http://www.artchristmas.com/art1.html THAT STATES RE-USE IS PERMITTED UNDER THE GFDL AND CC-BY-SA IT ALSO STATES ON THE SAME ORIGINAL WEB SITE THAT THIS INFORMATION IS PUBLIC DOMAIN.

HOPEFULLY THIS WILL CLEAR UP THE PROBLEM AND THE ARTICLE TITLED ART CHRISTMAS CAN ONCE AGAIN APPEAR IN WIKIPEDIA.

I believe that this matter may be easily resolvable and have advised Mr. Christmas how to appropriately note the release at his website. (Ordinarily, I'd say in spite of the irregularities of this release it would be sufficient to demonstrate intent, but more specific language would probably be helpful here given that prior publication of the material at http://www.jabw.demon.co.uk/art03.htm indicates copyright is co-owned. License for re-use is appropriate, but release into public domain is not, without confirmation from the other party.) I've also pointed out to Mr. Christmas that once material is released here, he will lose control over it as per our ownership of articles policy. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:08, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

References moved from the article. These can be put in appropriate places in the article, as footnotes; however, they may not be the most reliable references. [1] [2] [3] [4] Coppertwig(talk) 16:05, 24 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Here are the other references currently listed in the article. Most or all of these don't currently have complete bibliographic information. We would need at least: Author, title, date of publication, publisher.

  • Canadian National Archives Library - Ottawa, Canada
  • Who's Who of British Jazz - by John Chilton
  • The Lost History of Jazz In Canada (Such Melodious Racket)- by Mark Miller
  • Memory Lane No. 45 - New Prince's article written by Vince Egan
  • British Dance Bands On Record - by Brian Rust and Sandy Forbes
  • Discography of German Dance Music - by Horst Lange
  • Max Bygraves, I Wanna Tell Ya A Story - by Max Bygraves
  • The Dance Band Era - by Albert McCarthy
  • Hollywood, Mayfair and All That Jazz - by Roy Fox
  • Rhythm Magazine - caricature by Slade
  • Melody Maker Magazine
  • Mike Thomas
  • John A.B. Wright
  • Gene Miller

To bring this reference list up to Wikipedia's standards, it would be helpful to have more complete bibliographic information. For each reference, it would be nice to have at least author, title, date of publication, and publisher.

It would also be very helpful to know which references support which facts in the article, and then we can put in footnotes (i.e. inline citations, as Moonriddengirl mentioned). I can help with formatting. Coppertwig(talk) 16:17, 24 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
