Change and order of Battle edit

I changed "Regiment" to "force" since it composed many brigades. Hierarchically this made it a division of 4 (though the Germans thought 5) brigades. Technically, however the Army of the Vosges was an Army and not a Division or a Corps. To avoid the technicalities I went with "Force." I also have a few orders of battle from both French and Prussian sources. Should I include an OOB here? or create an OOB page? ```` — Preceding unsigned comment added by JBickley00 (talkcontribs) 18:39, 13 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Is That Flag Right? edit

It looks like an ensign - a naval flag. And did that flag exist prior to the German Empire? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.149.136.11 (talk) 06:26, 26 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

It looks like the war flag of the Northern German Confederation. So it is not a Prussian Flag, but it was used by German contingents. See eg. http://www.flaggenlexikon.de/fdtlhndb.htm ASchudak (talk) 09:57, 7 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Baden, not Prussia edit

I propose that the identity of the German troops is changed to "German" or "Baden" from Prussians, as the majority of the units fighting at Dijon - the XIV Corps under von Werder came from Baden. The captured Flag shown on the painting is from the North German Confederation, indicating the presence of other German troops not from Prussia or Baden for November.
