Work in progress edit
- I improved this article as a part of a project to raise the quality of articles relating to road pricing and urban traffic congestion pricing, or at least to achieve a similar standard, so that they will branch out to the specific cases, like this. Please comment here any substantial changes or controversial issues before editing, though, and contributions by Singaporean nationals are especially welcome. I am also trying to obtain the original figures from Mr. Yap paper (see references), any help is welcome too. And please, let's not get into a discussion about British or American spelling!
A request for the SG Wikipedians edit
- This article was upgraded today from STUB to START, but I do not agree that the importance is LOW. Just read the article and follow some of the references. Singapore's ALS was the world's first successful implementation of road congestion pricing, a landmark for the professional transportation community. Before Singapore's success, it was only a theoretical subject discussed by economist in books and papers. That's why I thought it was important to improve the article. As the Singapore's Electronic Road Pricing article explains, Singapore not only pioneered on this difficult public policy but became a model for other cities in the world, and thanks to recent technological advances, the number of pricing schemes being implemented is fast growing since the early 2000's. The SG system was and still is one-of-a-kind, and I think deserves a better rating than LOW. Mariordo (talk) 20:11, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Chinese? edit
If you do know what ALS is in Simplified Chinese, then it should be there (the article). But it's empty. It just says ([[Mandarin|Chinese:]] )
So what's it in chinese?
It's best that I remove it. Period. zheliel 09:49, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
