Space elevator edit

The article used to say that "Ankura's close proximity to the equator makes the island one of the few prime locations for any future space elevator." This is nonsense: the equator runs right across Africa and South America so there is a huge amount of equatorial land available. I have deleted the statement; do not restore it without citations and an explanation of why all the other equatorial land is unsuitable. Dricherby (talk) 15:26, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
