Formality edit

This page doesn't quite sound formal enough compared to the rest of Wikipedia's articles. Suggested modification.

Sun Microsystems and Comart Computers (in the U.K.) spring to mind as two vendors who shipped optical mice by default long before Apple did. AndrewBall 21:40, 16 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Leopard edit

I feel like I should mention that Leopard has not been released yet, and there is no confirmed feature-set of Leopard.

Despite being the default action in the developer version, it does not reflect the final version. So, either it needs to be flagged, or deleted.

Requested move edit

This article has been renamed from Apple Mouse to Apple Pro Mouse as the result of a move request.

The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was - revert to Apple Pro Mouse.

I feel like the generality of the name "Apple Mouse" demands that this article be subject to a dis-disambiguation page and/or usurped for a general Apple Mouse page, that includes the history of the mouse as well as all of the other Mice that Apple has developed, including the original Apple Mouse M0100. I would strongly recommend this article name be changed to "Apple Mouse (Pro)". Entries such as "Macintosh Mouse", "Apple Mouse II", etc. were the original mice to have the name "Apple Mouse". In general it does not follow the same criteria used in such broad topics as the similar Apple Keyboard article which covers more than a single product. In time, perhaps all of the Apple mice articles should be consolidated in a summary article which should be appropriately titled "Apple Mouse". --Mac128 (talk) 18:20, 23 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

IMO the move should be back to Apple Pro Mouse. The problem is this previous move, which appears to have been both unilateral and contrary to policy. The justification given for that move was simply that the official name of the Apple Pro Mouse had changed. But the common name is still Apple Pro Mouse.
Not sure that a DAB is the answer. I think an overview article at Apple mouse would be a better solution, linking to detailed articles on various models. Apple Mouse should probably be a redirect to the overview article. Andrewa (talk) 05:41, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
I tend to agree. As it turns out, Apple only changed the name but not the model number and the mouse seems universally referred to as Apple Pro Mouse. In any event, An overview article will essentially be a redirect for anyone looking for the Pro Mouse under just the name Apple Mouse. Unless there are any objections, the consensus is now revert to Apple Pro Mouse--Mac128 (talk) 06:18, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Zero button edit

As I understand it, with this mouse you push the whole top part down rather then having an identifiable button. The current version mentions it was described/derided as zero button mouse due to the unique design, but doesn't really explain what this design is. The only thing it really says at all besides being derided is "The Apple Pro Mouse also featured a unique mechanism to allow for 3 click force settings for the required pressure to click the mouse" which doesn't explain further what this is Nil Einne (talk) 13:35, 27 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
