Talk:Anti-hijack system

References section is empty, if anybody could fill it up or remove it, that'd be great. Alliednations (talk) 03:12, 6 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

[I added a link in the See Also section to Blaster (flamethrower). Should that kind of system be mentioned in the body of this article? mcs (talk) 18:56, 21 February 2009 (UTC)]Reply

Transponder edit

As the transponder itself is concealed, the thief would not be aware that such a system is active on a vehicle until they had ejected the driver and moved the vehicle out of range of the driver (usually only a couple of meters).

This is unsourced sounds a bit dangerous and/or futile to me. Once the vehicle stops, the hijacker is not going to be pleased. If you're lucky he/she may just take the transponder. Unlikely and he/she may harm you in the process. I would presume 50 metres or so would be more ideal. Effective as an anti-theft device maybe but as anti-hijack?
