London Gazette edit

Additional references (defintive records of his change of name from Bacon Bushby to Bacon, army commisions etc) can be found here. I'm a little short of time at the moment or I'd add them myself {{LondonGazette}} may also be useful for formatting these. Also details of Anthony Bacon sr are also available in the ODNB http://www.oxforddnb.com/view/article/50608 David Underdown (talk) 13:37, 25 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Waterloo Medal edit

With respect to Bacon's receipt of the Waterloo Medal, he probably received it and was certainly entitled to. It should be noted that virtually all british forces present received this award. I believe it was the first campaign medal awarded to British "other ranks", (enlisted personnel.)The context of the passage suggests to me this award was a special distinction for Bacon. It was clearly not. Ploughmanslunch (talk) 19:35, 7 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
