Hi all,

In my first time editing Wiki I think I may have unintentionally edited in a way warranted deletion a week or so ago. I feel that walking in the Annapurna Sanctuary warrants more than the brief allusion it receives in the text's body, especially to westerners for whom the area is likely unfamiliar.

Where do you suggest a good starting point would be ? To clarify, walkopedia (a reference to which I edited into the article) is not a commercial website, selling anything, but an walking-centric information store much like wiki. My hope was that other similar sites woould follow suit, so that the walker has all the information they could want at their fingertips...

Suggest as an external link as opposed to section in the article's main body? Alternatively I could post on this forum another version of some wording for you to review?

Warning ⚠️ severe danger if you follow the info on this page

This page is a car crash of wrong information. Simply look at the links for why. I have tracked extensively in this region & the wiki page makes a dangerous error of the Annapurna Base Camp trek being the same as the Annapurna Santuary trek. To the best of my knowledge, I was the first to fully complete & explore the Mardi Himyal trek in January 2010 . My route encompassed Annapurna Santuary. However a link up from the Santuary to Annapurna Base Camp has never been done to my knowledge, as of February 2023. It would be a stunning link up & one that I did attempt. However there are some very steep hillsides, dense bamboo & rhododendron forests & rivers in the way & only 1 village on the whole of the section I was attempting. I had written my last words & said my goodbyes to life, but thankfully I escaped off the new route, back to a wonderfully kind local village. Someone needs to edit the wiki article so it really is about Annapurna Santuary as Jimmy Roberts aptly described it. Eco-climber (talk) 22:35, 5 February 2023 (UTC)

I don't see ABC mentioned in the article now, except the legend to the pic, but if it was before, it's because of the big sign as you enter the trekking huts in the Sanctuary, which says Annapurna Base Camp. An actual base camp for Annapurna north face would clearly be much further up in that direction. The huts are close to what is considered the Huinchuli BC.
