Lede edit

  • Any image for the lede?
  • Afraid not; there are no free images from this period, and you cannot claim fair use for images of living people. Sarastro1 (talk) 18:15, 9 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Trinidadian former cricketer → former Trinidadian cricketer?
  • This wording would suggest he was no longer a Trinidadian, so I'd prefer to leave this as it is. Sarastro1 (talk) 18:15, 9 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • ...which left with him with highest Test batting average in history. → no need of the 1st "with"
  • You may mention the New Zealander Rodney Redmond somewhere in the article
  • Why? I don't think that is relevant to Ganteaume, and it is an article about him, not successful "one-Test wonders". Sarastro1 (talk) 18:15, 9 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Link batting
  • Added a phrase to say he was a batsman, and linked it there. Sarastro1 (talk) 23:41, 9 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Early life edit

  • ...as they had already had a chance to get... "had" is redundant

Test match call-up edit

  • ...England cricket team toured the West Indies.... Link both England cricket team and West Indies
  • Done, although I have not linked WI in this sentence as it does not refer to the team. Sarastro1 (talk) 18:15, 9 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • ...an injury to one of the West Indies' opening batsmen.... You may mention the player name here
  • ...but when West Indies batted.... "the" before West Indies. There may other check 'em out.
  • Link bowling and captain
  • 24-man .... 24-men?

Later career edit

  • I think you should link the teams in each section at their first use.
  • That would be overlinking. Once in the lead and once in the main body is enough for an article of this length. Sarastro1 (talk) 18:15, 9 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • ....scored 800 runs at an average of 27.58,[6] → full-stop instead of comma
  • He passed fifty in seven innings, with a top-score of 92 against Glamorgan,[4], but Norman Preston, the editor of Wisden Cricketers' Almanack, suggested neither Ganteaume, nor any of the other three specialist opening batsmen in the team, never "came up to expectations", forcing Frank Worrell to open the batting.[7] → Too many commas, you may rephrase the sentence, also there are 2 commas after Glamorgan.
  • ...and the fourth oldest in the world.[12] → You may mention 3 other names by adding a note.
  • Why? It is not about them, and rather makes the article a little trickier to update. It is not a big deal really. Sarastro1 (talk) 18:15, 9 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • OK, this was a minor one. Zia Khan 22:40, 9 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • A mention of Abul Hasan's average in the note would be nice. Zia Khan 05:49, 9 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
