Add {technical} template to the top of the page.

Half of this page needs googling if you aren't a programmmer. For example why "jank", why can't it say "sluggish user interface". What is ART? Why "GC" instaled of "garbage collection"? The sentence "Extra Dim reduces brightness below minimum level" doesn't even make sense from a logical standpoint. 78.0.86.75 (talk) 18:07, 1 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

GC has always been used with the explanation garbage collection and the one time it wasn't linked is now fixed.
ART is linked. Jank is a common word but it's also linked to explain the meaning within the developer context.
If you don't like the phrasing for "extra dim" please suggest a better phrase according to WP:ER.
The artical isn't technical in my opinion. RM12 (talk) 11:47, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
I don't need to suggest a better phrase because I'm not requesting to change that sentence, just pointing out that it is not even wrong. If the brightness is "below" some level, then that level is obviously not "minimum".
I've been playing around with computers and phones since I was 5 years old and Java was fashionable, but I didn't grow up to be a programmer, so "GC" still means GameCube to me. "Jank" is a teen slang word with a dozen meanings on UD and the link is equally vague. What does it mean here? Why do we need abbreviations when we can spell out "Android Runtime" and "garbage collection"? It's not like the table is all full of text with those screenshots.
Anyway, since you know so much about today's programming slang, have you thought that maybe you aren't a good judge of how readable is this article to a non-programmer? Please just place the banner as I requested. Thanks. 78.0.183.112 (talk) 15:30, 3 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Looking at your history, you're definitely not here to participate. It's just wasting energy. – The Grid (talk) 21:37, 7 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{Edit semi-protected}} template. Shadow311 (talk) 17:05, 6 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Making an edit request on this page absolutely was wasting energy. Only one good thing came out of it: I decided to create an account. Wouldn't even bother if The Grid didn't go on to revert my edits elsewhere. IvicaInsomniac (talk) 20:10, 15 December 2023 (UTC) (I made the edit request)Reply

Hey, I apologize for coming off the wrong foot and your edits have been appreciated on here. – The Grid (talk) 15:11, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Missing versions edit

There is at least one version missing: Android 11 (Go Edition). You need to add this, and also put all the earlier Go Editions in the main table. Some of us are considering the acquisition of smartphones that claim to have "Go Edition", but do not specify which edition number. Some of us need to have certain minimum edition numbers to be able to run specific APPS. Once we could see that there were several Go numbers, then we could make more detailed inquiries for the phone(s) we were considering. agb 173.233.167.50 (talk) 17:25, 23 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

See also edit

The See also needs to have Android Go

and perhaps Comparison of Android Go products
