The result of the proposal was move to Andrew "Boy" Charlton Pool. I did a similar search to Rifleman 82. I searched on Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool site:au and the cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au with Andrew Charlton. It is clear from the official web site that there is also a "Andrew Boy Charlton Biathlon Series" and that during the tendering series the name was changed from "Page 1. ITEM 7 SEASON EXTENSION – ANDREW (BOY) CHARLTON POOL FILE NO: S043580 SUMMARY" (17-10-05 FPTC) to "Page 1. ITEM 7 TENDER – ANDREW BOY CHARLTON POOL" (13-03-06 FPTC) but opened with the name Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool. It is clear that the article should be moved, but like Rifleman 82 I pondered on the choices. If the version with brackets was the only name used in reliable sources then I think we should have used brackets but given that this is not so, and as brackets have a strong association with disambiguation on Wikipedia I do not think it is the best choice. On the other hand Andrew Boy Charlton Pool does not make it clear that the Boy is often marked as different in reliable sources to indicate that it is a nickname. This left the choice of whether to use 'Boy' or "Boy". I could not find convention for nicknames that Rifleman 82 mentions so I fell back on WP:AT "Naturalness – Titles are those that readers are likely to look for or search with as well as those that editors naturally use to link from other articles." Encyclopaedia wide, Wikipedia usually places things in double quotes (American style) not single (British/Australian syle), so I have decided to move the article to that format to make "those that editors naturally use to link from other articles". --PBS (talk) 11:41, 5 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sydney Domain BathsAndrew Boy Charlton Pool – Request made 6 July 2012 by user:Zipzipzip using template:movenotice. Reason given by Zipzipzip is "Sydney Domain Baths is now the Andrew Boy Charlton Pool, and has been so since 1968" -- PBS (talk) 17:28, 8 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Since the Sydney Domain Baths is now the Andrew Boy Charlton Pool, and has been so since 1968, perhaps this article should be moved. Zipzipzip (talk) 19:14, 6 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

I was about to move this article as uncontroversial, but what is the correct target?

(Boy) vs. “Boy” in the name? edit

Local signage and the official website currently call this the Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool, not the Andrew “Boy” Charlton Pool. Should the Wikipedia page be updated to reflect this? I assume the name must have been adjusted at some point. Fizwidget (talk) 03:51, 16 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
