Move from Benfica to Valencia edit

Who owns the economic rights to a player, and who he's registered with, are two different things.

The article should and does include mention of the sale to Meriton of economic rights to the player, but that's accountancy, not football. Meriton haven't bought a football registration, they've bought the rights to any proceeds from transfer of registration. Mr Gomes isn't on loan from Mr Lim's company, and certainly not from Mr Lim himself, he's on loan from the football entity that holds his registration.

The infobox, and the opening sentence, and the sourced sentence in the body of the article where his move is described, deal with his footballing registration. In football terms, Benfica have temporarily transferred his registration to Valencia, or, in plain English, he's joined Valencia on loan from Benfica. There are multiple sources to verify this, including those already in the article. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 06:46, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

But that is misleading. He will not come back to Benfica. Fixed4u (talk) 15:10, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Players regularly go on loan with the expectation of the move being made permanent, but until the move is made permanent, they're still on loan. As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia re-publishes facts verifiable from and previously published by reliable sources, such as in this case Valencia CF and the Portuguese newspaper Record. Anything else would be original research, which we don't do. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 15:21, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
I completely agree. I only changed the article to "on loan from Peter Lim" because other Wikipedia users were removing "on loan from Benfica" (WHICH I ADDED) and complaining that it was incorrect. Fixed4u (talk) 15:28, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
So Fixed4u, you are saying you delibrately added false and misleading information to a BLP to make a point? That is a sanctionable offence in itself. Murry1975 (talk) 16:16, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Peter Lim owns Valencia and he loaned the player to his club, this is not false information. You just reverted my edits without adding back "on loan from Benfica". Why did you undo my edit in your talk page? Fixed4u (talk) 16:30, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
No you stated he was loaned from Lim, which is a falsehood, and you admit above you done this on purpose. Keep going and you will end up at an/i. Murry1975 (talk) 16:37, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
You are twisting my actions. Why didn't you warn User:Creed7 for reverting my correct edits? Fixed4u (talk) 16:41, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
User:Creed7 wrote: "Please man, stop posting false informations at the player's Wikipedia profile. If you accept it or not, he is not just a loanee, he is the new player of Valencia CF"
Nope TBA is not a number. Peter Lim (future owner of Valencia) loaned André Gomes to Valencia added "Spanish club Valencia CF (on loan from Peter Lim" and these earlier version Spanish club Valencia CF (on loan from Meriton Capital Limited) and Spanish club Valencia CF (temporary loan from Peter Lim)] and finally removing the temporary. So is Gomes the actual property of Lim/MCL? No they own his commercial rights. Did Lim/MCL loan Gomes? No. As for Creed he may have made a genuine mistake, but you as stated above acted knowningly ("I only changed the article to "on loan from Peter Lim" because other Wikipedia users were removing "on loan from Benfica") to add the false information. Murry1975 (talk) 16:56, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
If you had stop Creed7 from removing correct information this mess wouldn't happen. I blame you and Creed7. Fixed4u (talk) 17:00, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
I am not responsible for your edit, you solely are. As you might have read in the link above,
"Contentious material about living persons (or, in some cases, recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced – whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable – should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion"
I did just that, and you have shown no remorse for your delibrate and pointy edit. Murry1975 (talk) 18:05, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
Why would I show remorse for a good faith edit? It's known that Peter Lim is involved in the transfer of André Gomes to Valencia. It's not my fault that Creed7 decided to revert my correct edit... and you let him. This useless discussion is over. This is not a court and you are not a judge. Fixed4u (talk) 18:25, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
I am not a judge, and this is not a court, but it is an encyclopedia, and you have shown little regard for how it works. Next time you add anything false to a BLP and I come across it I will revert it and I will bring it to an/i. Murry1975 (talk)
an/i what? You are really dangerous behind a computer. Fixed4u (talk) 18:34, 20 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
