Fair use rationale for Image:Ancaster grave.jpg

Image:Ancaster grave.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Might I please propose the News Items section is deleted from this article? My reason for asking is because the articles (such as Teacher jailed for sex with pupil BBC News, 11 March, 2004) which has today been deleted by Ksp001 (talk | contribs)‎ ) appear to be about people, rather than the village—GrahamSmith (talk) 11:06, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Town or village

Is it a town or village? RailwayJG (talk) 22:44, 31 July 2020 (UTC)

I don't think so

" the later years of Roman occupation, a large stone wall with accompanying ditches was erected around the town, possibly for defence against marauding Saxons."

I just watched the relevant Time Team episode. They said that the wall enclosure was built to protect from pirates. The point was made that the town was closer to the shore back then. Saxons didn't get to Britain until after the Romans had left.
