Very poorly written and questionable information edit

The article needs cleaning up. There seems to be no reliable source for most of the claims made here. 180.149.7.209 (talk) 13:16, 20 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Protection request edit

request to admin, make this article semi protected to protect from vandalism.

Not done: requests for changes to the page protection level should be made at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. I don't see enough recent vandalism to justify protection, but I'm not an administrator and my opinion is by no means authoritative or final. —KuyaBriBriTalk 15:08, 1 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Watch the history. রাহাত | 20:39, 3 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for making a proper request for protection at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. It appears that an administrator has declined your request but didn't provide a detailed reason why. Only that administrator can tell you exactly why s/he declined the request, but I did look through this article's history and noted that most of the vandalism that has occurred to this article happened weeks ago. In general, in order for an article to be protected, there must be a long-term, consistent pattern of vandalism, or a significant increase in vandalism within 24 hours prior to the request being made. Also, an article will not be protected if the vandalism is only coming from very few editors, in which case the matter is handled by blocking the offending editor(s). If the amount of vandalism increases again, then by all means feel free to make another protection request. Cheers, —KuyaBriBriTalk 05:20, 4 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Major Edits edit

I agree with the first comment above (dated 20 Sept 2012) that the article was poorly written. Further, Mr Jalil's educational background needs to be researched further, and therefore, I have flagged it accordingly. -MINISTER- 19:26, 27 March 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Minist3r (talkcontribs)

Education edit

Matriculation is equivalent to O level, so why Jalil have to matriculate after he have completed O and A level? I think it is unnecessary to mention it in the article about the matriculation. For Reference of the name of his school see This. It is Oxford International School, Dhaka not Madaripur. Here is the translation. Rahat | 18:48, 20 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your response. However the translation you provided indicates: " have the Oxford International school level and at the level of the..." -- still unclear. Quis separabit? 19:30, 20 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
that was a rough translation from google....the translation would be Have completed O and A levels from Oxford international school Rahat | 06:16, 21 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I've restored the education information, given the discussions above. However, it would be helpful to find when the article was changed to indicate he graduated from University of Manchester and with what reference. --Ronz (talk) 20:40, 25 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

I am concerned that we've no current, English verification at all. From what I can make of the four references, the education information might be simply his statements made with no independent verification of any kind. His website doesn't verify the info that I've found, though it may have at some time (which might be worth investigating). Two of the references are non-English interviews, which I assume do not provide independent verification. The prothom-alo.com link is dead, and I don't know how to begin searching for a version that was moved, copied, or archived. --Ronz (talk) 19:44, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

You are right Ronz. All sources about Jalil's educational information are his statements in interviews. Here is the working link of that interview. I think it will be better to mention in the article that all the educational information comes from interviews without verification. I am translating that statement of Jalil in that interview in Prothom-alo.

"I completed "O" level and "A" level from Dhaka Oxford international School. Then I went to Manchester, there I studied BBA and Fashion designing."

I have also listened the interview of Jalil with BBC, where he claims that the studied BBA in the University of Manchester and returned Bangladesh in 2000. - Rahat (Talk * Contributions) 05:45, 27 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Much appreciated!
I think it would be better to leave out per WP:BLPPRIMARY, but qualifying it as his own statements might work. --Ronz (talk) 16:06, 27 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Moved from article edit

While we wait for some confirmation from Ctg4Rahat: --Ronz (talk) 19:37, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ananta completed his GCE 'O' and 'A' levels from Oxford International School, Dhaka and later studied Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Fashion Design from an institution in Manchester, UK.[1][2][3][4]

Siamsterio don't use facebook as reference. It is not WP:RS. And dont use youtube video links to criticize Living Person. Read WP:Criticism first. Businessman vs magnate edit

He's no magnate. A proper source for such a label would examine his business dealings in detail and compare them with others working in the same industries. --Ronz (talk) 19:34, 26 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
