Anadarko Daily News Merger proposal edit

Myself and another user believe that Anadarko Daily News Doesn't warrant its own page and as such should be merged here.--Steam Iron 18:19, 28 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oppose merge. No reason a longstanding daily newspaper can't have its own stub. -Uyvsdi (talk) 00:51, 29 April 2010 (UTC)UyvsdiReply
Support merge. I think it would be best placed into a subsection paragraph under a media section which would also incorporate other media from Anadarko (i.e. 103.5 FM). If more history and details about the paper can be uncovered in the future, then it would warrant its own stub article. Seeing as how its only a few sentences, I support the merge. Support merge. Anadarko Daily News is not a daily currently, but a small community newspaper. I think the article should be merged from the time being and if enough information is ever found to make it into its own article, a separate article can be created.Okiebradshaw (talk) 18:36, 29 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I could go either way on this one. Since this is a longstanding newspaper in a county seat I believe there is notability there, even if it is currently a weekly paper. Merging it into the Anadarko article until it is "large enough" to have its own article would be acceptable, but who is to say what is or isn't "large enough". Interestingly, there is a proposal on WP:NNEWSPAPER that would be helpful in this case, but it is still just a proposal.Narthring (talkcontribs) 19:23, 8 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I see no point in adding anything more than a link within this page. People looking for information on the town are not looking for information on the newspaper.Moonbuy (talk) 17:35, 9 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
I would argue that under the Guidelines for U.S. cities, there should be a Media section for Anadarko, Oklahoma and that the information in the Anadarko Daily News article would fit perfectly. In response to the question of what is considered "large enough" I would say that stubs are generally articles that need to be improved and that in this case, I don't think the resources exist to do so.
