This [1] more or less states that this will air on Nov 23rd. I suspect that it is not exact enough to meet our criteria for inclusion in the article but I thought I would mention it just in case. The BFI Screening

Folks the BFI screening does not go in the "Release date" field. That is reserved for the date in which it airs on television. The new series has had several episodes - starting with "Rose" - which had special screenings before they were shown on TV. I have no objection (though others might) to a mention in the body of the article about the BFI screeniing but that is the only place that it belongs. MarnetteD | Talk 17:48, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

Missing members of cast list

There were actors portraying Peter Purves (Steven), Anneke Wills (Polly), and Michael Craze (Ben), but they are not listed in the cast list on this article. Glimmer721 ^talk 19:54, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

This is due to the fact they were not credited, a bit of digging revealed all the actors/actresses names so they have been added. MasterKasterborous (talk) 18:43, 8 May 2014 (UTC)

Matt Smith

Re. Matt Smith's listing as the Eleventh Doctor, I'm sure that he was playing himself (an actor in costume, like Hartnell), rather than the Doctor. His scene was an acknowledgement between Hartnell and him — as actors — that the character would continue and that Hartnell's legacy was assured. I might be wrong, but that's how I read it. Use of firstnames/surnames

Is there a reason why people's first names (e.g. William instead of Hartnell, Verity instead of Lambert) are being used so much?

The Manual of Style (see here) states that the full name should be used in the first mention (eg William Hartnell) and then further mentions should use the surname (Hartnell) - unless there are more than one person with the same surname.

If there is no particular reason for this article not being in line with the MoS, I'll change it in the near future when I get a chance.

Some actors' roles unclear.

I'm unsure of how to improve this without complicating the credits section but William Russell and Carole Anne Ford played cameos but the credits (as well as those of the actual production) make it unclear who they exactly played. Russell played the security guard at the start who asks for a pass. I'm sure Anne Ford plays the mother beckoning in her children however she isn't referred to by her name.

A load of Tosh?

Was Donald Tosh really in this? I didn't spot him, but then (much as I love his writing) his face isn't one I'm familiar with. He isn't credited in the IMDB entry. What is the source for this? DavidFarmbrough (talk) 14:44, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

List of actors who played characters that portrayed Doctor Who

The article List of actors who have played the Doctor used to include a table called Actors who played characters thought to be the Doctor which was later dropped. I moved this old table to a new article, but decided on the broader name "List of actors who played characters that portrayed Doctor Who" when I saw there were people looking to add the "Adventure" doctors. The new article has a broad enough name to accommodate a new table or a renaming of the first table.jg (talk) 22:28, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

Docudrama?

I hope people won't mind my raising this, but I'm feeling a little uneasy about the description of this piece as a 'docudrama'.

I had thought that the term 'docudrama' referred to a documentary including dramatised re-enactments of specific events; however, I see that the discussion under the Wiki entry on the term reveals considerable disagreement as to its application, which seems to have evolved/expanded (perhaps somewhat confusingly) over the years.

My concern with its use here is that it seems to emphasise the factual, documentary aspect of the piece, thereby encouraging people to pick at perceived inaccuracies of detail. Mark Gatiss has himself pointed out that he omitted/merged some characters and events, and of course the scene with Matt Smith at the climax of the drama - while it could be regarded as artistically true (representing both Hartnell's eventual acceptance that he had started something which could continue far into the future without him, and the audience's own knowledge of the programme's longevity) - was certainly not a simple factual representation of events.

An Adventure in Space and Time was for me a gripping and profoundly moving work of art and interpretation, for which the term 'docudrama' seems both inadequate and potentially misleading. I see that both the BBC website and Doctor Who: The Vault by Marcus Hearn describe it simply as a 'drama'; might I therefore suggest that, on the basis of these reputable sources, and to obviate the concerns discussed above, the description in the first sentence of the article be changed from 'a British television docudrama' to 'a British television drama'? I have to agree with you C. This TV film does not have any features of a documentary on display. I would say that, if others do not respond to this thread by next week, that you should go ahead and change the the wording to drama and use the BBC site as a reference. Organisation of Cast

I have started to make some edits to the page, in particular with further details to the Cast and Awards sections. Being quite new to editing Wikipedia I'm not as confident on the norms for cast listings in productions but I don't feel the way it is currently set out is as effective as it could be. As well as the 25 credited cast there are approximately another 20 uncredited actors and actress (excluding extras).

Would it make more sense to divide up credited and uncredited cast or perhaps note which are and which are not (as per the cameo appearances)? At what point do you stop crediting the cast? For example do we include those who played Menoptra and Daleks and do we include 'extras'?

Wondered if anyone else had any ideas on the best way to structure this section.

Plot length

The current attempts to lengthen the plot section are a clear violation of WP:TVPLOT. This kind of bloating of the plot section is not helpful to readers. IMO it should be kept at the more concise version at this time. MarnetteD|Talk 14:00, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

Updated ending
