The ATS Patient Information Series Fact Sheets includes more than 70 fact sheets on topics ranging from pulmonary function testing in children, bronchoscopy and arterial catheterization to sleep studies, smoking cessation, and pulmonary rehabilitation. The ATS advocates for improved respiratory health for patients in the United States and around the globe. The ATS addresses global health through initiatives such as Methods in Epidemiologic, Clinical and Operations Research (MECOR), International Trainee Scholarships and involvement with the Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS) and Framework Convention Alliance. The ATS is the creator and disseminator of globally recognized clinical practice guidelines such as the first “International Standards for Tuberculosis Diagnosis, Treatment and Control” used by the World Health Organization.
