2006 Copyvio: 100% of existing text edit

The section marked: appears to be a direct cut and paste from this website, [1] which apparently took place with this 2006 edit [2], by an IP address user, has clearly stood the test of time (!), and is currently not cited. Come to notice, there are no citations here at all. I am planning to remedy both matters. Stand by for liftoff. duff 04:26, 6 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

The top and bottom sections are also directly copied, from a different website, by another IP address user. Also marked and reported. duff 17:09, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for noting these concerns! Investigation reveals that the content from this website originated on Wikipedia in spite of their mark of copyright. The earliest archive of their page is 5/2008. The first paragraph of that website reads:

The LaMancha is a type of dairy goat noted for its apparent lack of, or much reduced, external ears. The LaMancha breed is medium in size, and is also noted for a generally calm, quiet, and gentle temperament.

We can see the germs of this evolving naturally on Wikipedia, from the first edit in March 2004:
There rest of the content, too, shows signs of natural evolution. It's not really plausible that various Wikipedians incrementally copied from that website over the span of multiple years, so we can consider this one reverse infringement. I'll examine the other source to see when and how that content entered. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:08, 14 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
It does look like this source was pasted onto Wikipedia; interestingly, it was also copied by the other source when they duplicated our article. Time to do some cleanup. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:13, 14 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I've merged the clean content with your rewrite. Accordingly the links above after the influx of the actual copyvio will not work. There seem to be some strange formatting issues in the rewrite, though; I've tagged it for cleanup accordingly. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:24, 14 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Done fixed the strange formatting issues and the cite needed issue. duff 01:22, 18 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Title change proposed LaMancha (goat)-->Lamancha goat edit

When the copyvio matter settles out and the new text emerging at the temp page is substituted for this page's current content, I'd prefer that the title be (the correct name as registered): Lamancha goat without parenthesis, like at least some of the other goat breed pages are. (Kiko goat Boer goat Saanen goat Toggenburg goat Alpine goat (which is still parenthentical like this one) Alpine (goat) Nubian goat. It may be that this can be simply done now, by starting such a page, but I'll wait for comment. duff 17:09, 7 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

It seems like your move proposal is uncontested; to retitle the article, all you need to do is move it. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:25, 14 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Okay great. That is also   Done. Moved to American Lamancha goat (the proper name), and created new page for the Spanish ancestor-goat, La Mancha goat (its correct spelling, caps, spacing). duff 02:11, 18 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
