Contested deletion edit
This page should not be speedily deleted because nominator is to inexperienced to understand our deletion process.
They claimed the article "...does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject." This individual is the first individual to be called an "enemy combatant" since 2009. The term is a controversial term, was controversial during the Bush administration, was quietly deprecated by the Obama administration, so it is highly significant that Trump officials have started using it again.
Only two other Americans were characterized "enemy combatants", Yaser Hamdi and Jose Padilla. Its use on Americans was considered quite controversial.
Nominator would have learned all this, if they had complied with WP:BEFORE. --Geo Swan (talk) 21:29, 20 September 2017 (UTC)
Identity... edit
Should this individual's identity be put into this article?
So far I think only the NYTimes has published it. They reported they determined it by looking at captured ISIS records. Geo Swan (talk) 16:30, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
