While the DEFA-Stiftung claims to own the rights of the film (see DEFA-Stiftung), the private website defa-sternstunden.de calls the film unfinished (German: unvollendet). The HFF Potsdam (Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen) has the screenplay of the film in its library with the note: "Am 25.9.1946 wird die Produktion auf Beschluß der DEFA eingestellt! Lt. Wilkening: Der Regisseur sei der Aufgabe nicht gewachsen! Material ist vernichtet!" (own approximate translation: "On 25. September 1946 the production stopped on resolution of the DEFA!
