Best finish

I'd like to add the best finish a club has ever achieved in the Bundesliga. Does anybody think this is a bad idea? I would just add it, but the table is already quite big and if there is reason not to add this, I'd prefer not to clutter it any further. OdinFK (talk) 11:06, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

PROD

I've removed the PROD from the article. The all-time table is published every season in the kicker Sonderheft and not something just made up by an editor. It receives plenty of media coverage. It is also a good indication as who the dominant teams have been in the Bundesliga since 1963. All-time tables may not hold great value for lower leagues as clubs move in both directions, up and down, but for the top-league in a country its quite meaningful. 2p vs 3p

In this ranking 3 points are awarded for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss, although the Bundesliga awarded 2 points for a win until the 1994–95 season.
That is not right. The teams did not get 3 points for a win before 1994-95 season, so they should not be given the points afterwards. 85.217.34.67 (talk) 03:31, 21 April 2013 (UTC)

Table sorts incorrectly

Does anyone know why the table sorts correctly for total number of seasons, but behaves differently/incorrectly for the number of consecutive seasons? OdinFK (talk) 21:10, 15 May 2016 (UTC)

My guess is that its because not all of the values in the column are numbers, so they get formatted as text for sorting purposes. Sir Sputnik (talk) 21:40, 15 May 2016 (UTC)

I thought so, but had no sensible explanation. Makes sense, that in mixed columns the integers get converted to strings. Unfortunately putting the m-dash in a sort template does not change that. Now that I think of it, it is probably inherent in the sort-template that it gives back a string. Will look for one that can give back integers, and possibly changes this accordingly afterwards. Losing season

I think it would be great to add "Losing Season" column. That would be number of seasons in which a club had more loses than wins (so 10-10-10 for example would not be a losing season; because of draw seasons it's better to have losing seasons than winning seasons). That would show how consistent a club is. There are clubs that have peeks and lows and there a clubs that are average. So maybe they have 0 titles and equal number of wins but differ in consistency. How are Goals for/agains/difference or points nontrivial compared to losing seasons??? There was a time when win was only worth 2 points. With losing seasons you see, compared to total seasons, how many succesful seasons clubs had. 95.178.231.20 (talk) 05:39, 17 December 2020 (UTC)

I think the answer could have been a bit less confrontational/snappy, but I agree in essence. There are a million stats that you could have that add something, but the table has 18 columns already. Inflating it even more makes it even harder to process and for a stat that won't give anything to most readers. I understand why you want what you want, but a casual reader will just not get it without a lot of additional context, explaining why this stat could be relevant.
