Original research edit

I fail to see any refs which treat the general subject of the article in a scholarly way. Therefore I suggest to remove various unreferenced trivial and naive classifications and general comments, and listify the text, in order to eliminate original research. Also, I suggest to eliminate telepathy cases, since it aint no language. Staszek Lem (talk) 14:30, 6 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

add info on Darmok and the Jarada from Next Gen? edit

should there be a reference made to the Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes Darmok and The Big Goodbye? Since the plot of Darmok involves a distinctly different language (one using metaphors) and the other has a subplot about Picard learning to recite a ritual greeting in an insectoid language, perhaps they are worth a mention?--FeanorStar7 16:11, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

Spam edit

@Lembit Staan:: the addition of that content was by an editor whose edits are entirely concerned with promoting Stephen Wolfram (incidentally: not a linguist!) and his companies, see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Badtoothfairy. I would encourage you to re-remove it, or at least reduce the spammy aspect. --JBL (talk) 23:27, 12 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@JayBeeEll: In the future reverts of such type please put the link to the corresponding discussion. The deleted piece does not at all look like spam to an uninvolved editor. Lembit Staan (talk) 23:33, 12 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sure, that's a good suggestion, thank you. --JBL (talk) 23:35, 12 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
