Not in fact Orphaned edit

Currently the article is only linked from the Wallace page. Is there a way that we could either create a navbox or something else that would create a relevant network of science anniversaries or celebrations (such as Ada Lovelace Day)? Sadads (talk) 17:24, 7 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Firstly, as you say, the article is linked so it is not an orphan. It would be possible to have a list or perhaps a navbox of such things, but we'd have to take care it did not become indiscriminate, say by insisting on documented, official celebrations, with citations. Orphaned is less than 3 articles linking in (per the longstanding definition). I added an early version of the template with the holidays that I could find. Surprised at how scatter they are on Wikipedia. Would appreciate help continuing to populate the template and category, Sadads (talk) 15:07, 8 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Orphaned with a parent, hmm. (I knew WP was mad.) I shan't lose sleep about it, it certainly isn't obvious why other articles would link to an anniversary like this. It might be worth asking on the various WikiProjects (there's a list of them here.) Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:20, 8 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Will throw it at WP:History of Science, Sadads (talk) 15:40, 8 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
