Opening comment

Why is the picture of an alfa that has aftermarket bits, a standard 33 with no vynals or bodykit would be nice.

Use of other Alfa Romeo models to describe various 33 series

I'm not aware of the Alfa 90, 75 or 164 being used to describe the various Series of 33s. Anyone else heard of this? Bobbber1975 (talk) 15:16, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

No I've never heard of this - and I've owned an Alfasud Sprint since about 1982 and more recently I've raced an Alfasud Ti. So I've placed a tag to show a citation is needed. I've always heard the 33 referred to by year or series number - never this Alfa 90, Alfa 75, 164 thing. --Xagent86 (Talk | contribs) 11:00, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Article name

I am bemused that this article is called "33 Series" as this car was known as just "33" or as on the badge on the back, "Alfa 33". I am aware of the other types of 33, but these are not referred to on Wikipedia as just "33" so I would propose that this article is renamed "Alfa Romeo 33" so that it is consistent with other articles relating to Alfa models of the 1980/1990s (such as Alfa Romeo 75) and the disambiguation page removed and the links added to each relevant page (as already on the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale and Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 pages). As it is, one could argue the two Tipo 33 articles could be merged to reduce any confusion, but that's another discussion! Warren Whyte (talk) 10:49, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

• Support rename You're right, of course, Warren. The Italians appear to manage with Alfa Romeo 33, so I guess that should work for us too. I imagine >90% of english speakers looking for the Alfa Romeo 33 antry will have this car in mind, though I'm not sure how that can be proven. Maybe the entry originally got its funny name because someone wasn't sufficiently up to speed with the wiki-technical stuff to rename the disambiguation page. Series naming convention

I have not been convinced on the use of second and third series names in this article as it does not reflect my memories of contemporary Alfa 33 naming. The second series should be the 1990 model, when the car had a significant re-design. The current second series described in the article is in fact a mid-term facelift, and should be renamed as such. Aerodynamics

"...its low drag coefficient of 0.36, the lowest of any previous Alfa Romeo...": I beg to differ: the Giulia saloon of the 1960s had a Cd of 0.33; the article on Automobile drag coefficient confirms this. Motornyse (talk) 21:51, 9 November 2011 (UTC)
