Talk:Alex Hassilev

This stub is virtually un-sourced, and has elements that suggest it is self-promotion. Particularly un-Wikipedial is the use of gratuitous superlatives, viz., "accomplished, gifted, successful, wonderful, excellent, magnificent". Mr. Hassilev was a very junior member of The Limelighters (far overshadowed by Yarborough and Gottlieb), and a minor producer in Los Angeles (how many producers work from a home studio?), with virtually no credentials. An Administrator needs to reconsider this page. Josephbyrd 20:49, 7 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I cleaned it up a bit but have no sources at this time to add. The article also has problems with over 2/3 of it being devoted to the Limeliters - maybe that should be moved to that page... Airproofing (talk) 17:19, 8 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I am in the process of doing a full update of this page with good references. The text in there at the moment has no references and from what I found, is mostly cut and pasted. The references I will use about the Limeliters have a specific mention of Hassilev when possible. I think the new article will be fine, and certainly an improvement. Feel free to add comments here and of course make improvements when it is up - hopefully in the next day or two. Realitylink (talk) 19:52, 8 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ok, it is updated now. I think it still needs work and agree that it does look like mostly a Limeliters page - although as mentioned above, there a lot of references to perceptions of Hassilev within this context. A suggestion is to find different section names - ideas most welcome. Also it sort of tapers off toward the end as I couldn't find much information of what he is doing now. One section that could stand on its own is his work with record production, and another possibility is a discography. I also see that he was nominated for Grammys, so will add a section on that later. We have something to work here folks.Realitylink (talk) 22:48, 8 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
