NC71097 type? N71097 is a piper J-3 Cub, is this the same as NC71097? Mjroots (talk) 22:42, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

FAA data baselink,similar to airport-data.com: FAA N71097, sold to Jim Perry.LanceBarber (talk) 18:01, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
The "C" after the "N" stood for "standard" certificate ("The symbol appropriate to the airworthiness certificate of the aircraft ("C", standard; "R", restricted; "L", limited; or "X", experimental) followed by the U.S. registration number of the aircraft" from FAR 45.22 ) and FAA dropped the second letter... the a/c type of NC sure looks like a Cub. I've added it to the aircraft section. Mjroots (talk) 20:32, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dubious statement in photo edit

I realize that you're going by the photo description. However, there are no hills like those seen in the photo that close to Merrill Field. The area immediately surrounding Merrill Field to the west is at roughly the same elevation. Elsewhere, it's at a lower elevation (the Ship Creek valley to the north, the Chester Creek valley to the south, and former gravel pits to the east, now home to Alaska Regional Hospital and Northway Mall).RadioKAOS (talk) 04:45, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I am the author and the uploader of the File: Alaska Coastal Airlines CV-240 N196N.jpg, it is likely that after so many years I confused the locality, I went there once! If you recognize the place I'd like you to correct it. Thanks. Chesipiero (talk) 14:27, 22 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
