After a quick glance, I thought the name of one of Alapai's children looked odd. Mahiwa. That name just doesn't exist nor makes sense. It's actually spelled wrong, the son wasn't Mahiwa at all. Mamoahina (talk) 12:06, 23 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

@KAVEBEAR Hello. I know you are well with Hawai'i topics and chiefs and I need help. On this article it says that One of King Alapa'inui's wives wer eborn in 1788, though he is suspected to have died in 1754. we know he died when kalaniopu'u upheld the throne, long before alapa'inui's third wife was supposedly born. can you help me? I just removed the date. ʻUmiaemoku is a real person, daughter of Mahiolole, Alapaʻi's grandfather, and mother of Kānekapōlei. Which would make her his aunt. But I don't know of any sources that connected her to Alapaʻi unless there is another ʻUmiaemoku. The reference link to the Kekoolani genealogy site is dead so I can't verify either way. Alapaʻi and Keaweamahi (not Keawemahi) are very common name. For Keaweamahi, there is the wife of Kaikioʻewa and the poʻolua father of William Luther Moehonua and others in that family with that name. KAVEBEAR (talk) 00:30, 29 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
