Qalʻat ar-Rabad edit

The comment about Qalʻat ar-Rabad = "the castle of the faubourg" or "the castle with the suburbs" is adapted from C.N. (Cedric Norman) Johns, "Medieval 'Ajlun", pp. 21-34. I cannot find now where it was published, but it's probably from "Pilgrims' Castle ('Atlit), David's Tower (Jerusalem) and Qal'at ar-Rabad ('Ajlun)".

Quote: "It is not surprising that an extensive suburb grew up round the foot of the hill, which was large enough to give the castle its later name, Qal'at ar-Rabad, 'the castle with the faubourg'." Johns, p. 30. Arminden (talk) 03:10, 4 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
