I don't think this guy is suitable for having his biography, so we can ommit him

He's an important example of the more disgustingly intolerant of the clerics of Iran. Those remarks of his should be recorded and remembered.

I think the biography is important, and I have no problem with the quotations, however, I think an unbiased source should be used. I also believe that you should refrain from using wikipedia as a means to discredit the Iranian leadership. Wikipedia is non-point-of-view. I know you have a problem with that, but it's the rules, sorry. If he did say something, and it reflects his views on relevant issues, then you are doing fine.Hayadel 07:19, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

I think this guy is very important (given he chairs a body for approving/disapproving parliamentary candidates and the supreme leader of Iran) in Iranian politics and think his Wikipedia page's Career section should be further elaborated on. So far the page seems primarily focused on various views/statements that could be viewed as controversial in the West, which I think can be important, but not all his Wikipedia page needs.G1729 (talk) 16:01, 28 May 2016 (UTC)

Accuracy of "Views" section in Jannati bio

I'm not sure the statement given in Jannati's bio's Views section about the creation of an Islamic state---"Fortunately, after years of effort and expectations in Iraq, an Islamic state has come to power and the constitution has been established on the basis of Islamic precepts" [1] will be correctly interpreted by western readers, who think of the Islamic State as ISIL, when Jannati seemed to be referring to the creation of the government of the Republic of Iraq (the source makes clear he "welcomed on Friday the establishment of an Islamic republic in Iraq and hailed the country’s new constitution as one based on “Islamic precepts”"), which the US was itself trying to establish at the time, (because the comment was in 2005, before ISIL began referring to itself as the Islamic State according to the sources I was able to find? He was making the comment on the day a draft constitution was submitted to the Iraqi parliament --see [2] and his comment appears to me to be a reference to that.
