Age discrimination against the young edit
There's also age discrimination against young people: (1) Not hiring any people below a certain age because on average they are too immature; (2) charging higher car insurance rates to all people below age 24 because as a group they are more prone to file claims. If someone could find references about this and put it into the article, that would be good. Loraof (talk) 21:46, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
- It is a lot easier to justify age discrimination of the youth as immature, or simply lack of experience. Any "correct" justification makes it not technically discrimination (you don't want to argue as to why being blind bars you from driving). As for insurance I suspect that they use stats to justify this; also note that rates go up around age 65. Subanark (talk) 12:16, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
Inclusion of US presidential race of 2024? edit
It seems like there is a lot of rhetoric around president Biden being too old to be president (81 at time of writing this). Personally, I have seen a lot of ad hoc responses in social media along the theme of "you're too old to understand" or "go to your deathbed". These seem to apply to anyone that is at least moderately older, and I have seen it applied to people as young as 25. Subanark (talk) 12:23, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
