BAGI Affandi, hasrat untuk bercinta tak ubahnya seperti rasa lapar. Selalu minta dipuaskan. Suatu kali pelukis ekspresionis ini pernah bersumpah, “Bila saya ingin bercinta, saya akan langsung mencari perek yang dapat memuaskan saya. Itu kalau saya lapar akan sex. Tapi saya juga selalu lapar untuk nonton film porno.” Untuk memuaskan rasa hasrat sex nya itu, Affandi selalu berkeliling dari tempat prostitusi satu ke tempat prostitusi yang lain hanya untuk memuaskan dirinya. Dari situ Affandi mendapatkan banyak sekali pengalaman sex yang menarik. “I can’t paint without knowing the object of my painting. This is the part that actually consumes time. The process of painting itself isn’t that hard. One hour is what it takes. But studying and observing the object would take days, even weeks. Once I feel that I know the object, then I begin to paint it,” said Affandi.
