cite for pronunciation? edit
Where does this pronunciation come from? Wouldn't it be pronounced "Ai-guy-on"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.91.172.133 (talk) 08:03, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- This is the English pronunciation, following the literary conventions of adopted Latin names. Ae is pronounced "ee", as in encyclopaedia, g is pronounced "j" before an "ee" vowel, etc. What you're giving is an approximation of what is reconstructed for Classical Latin, which is what we provide the Greek or Latin orthography for.
Spoken Wikipedia recording edit
I've just uploaded an audio recording of the article. Please let me know if I've mispronounced anything. :-) --Mangst (talk) 01:46, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
