cite for pronunciation?

This is the English pronunciation, following the literary conventions of adopted Latin names. Ae is pronounced "ee", as in encyclopaedia, g is pronounced "j" before an "ee" vowel, etc. What you're giving is an approximation of what is reconstructed for Classical Latin, which is what we provide the Greek or Latin orthography for.

(If you want an actual cite, it's sometimes difficult, but in this case I found one in Burton & Gummere, Latin: fourth year, 1931:439, where they just happened to use Aegaeon as an illustration of the diphthongs ae and oe: "Aegaeōn, Ējē′on".) kwami (talk) 08:42, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
