"Begin at the beginning," the King said, very gravely, "and go on till you come to the end: then stop." - from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Chapter 12.

Wikipedia has lots and lots of excellent material on accountancy, but without wanting to be disparaging, also some that is downright old-fashioned and typical of the misconceptions common among laypeople and even older accountants! The pre-refactor article was an excellent example.

I can't find a suitable Wikiproject, we probably need one. Some relevant discussion at Wikipedia:Companies, Corporations and Economic Information. Andrewa 17:18, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Removed text: ...for anything that one puts something in. This overgeneralisation is one thing that the refactor was explicitly intended to remove. Examples: a bucket, a suitcase, a leyden jar and the ITER all meet the description I have removed! Andrewa 20:04, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Disambiguation link to Wikipedia space edit

Suggest this page should show a link to "Wikipedia:Why create an account?". It took me a long time to find 'reasons to register' - searching on "account" (taken from "create account") did not help. 81.129.151.236 10:19, 10 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good suggestion. I've added a link at Account (disambiguation). This page links to that one ("For other uses ..."), and policy is that articles should cross-reference to as few other pages (for disambiguation purposes) as possible. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 20:26, 12 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Excellent article edit

This is a simple and well written article. More authors need to follow this example. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.147.241.247 (talk) 16:13, 4 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
