Talk:Accidental dignity

Incorrect Explanation edit

The article cites that "accidental dignity occurs when a planet or other celestial body is posited in a house of its natural rulership", this is incorrect, house rulership is only one example of accidental dignity. Conjunctions to an angle, regardless of the angle, are considered an accidental dignity, whereas retrogradation or combustion are all accidental debilities. The table then given lists the house rulerships but only chooses the 'modern' interpretation, with mars having accidental dignity in the first house, venus in the second, mercury in the third etc. (Xpaulk (talk) 14:00, 31 August 2010 (UTC))Reply

Have amended the page and removed the incorrect definition, which actually included a reference to domicile (which is essential dignity not accidental), and also cited skyscript as a source, and gave examples of accidental dignity other than house position. Also added a sub heading for examples of accidental debility. Should add in more accidental dignity by house association? Such as the chaldean order system and the planetary joys? Have amended to differentiate more clearly between essential and accidental dignity. I've also removed the list of house rulerships and replaced it with a table which includes modern planetary rulership, chaldean rulership and planetary joys. (Xpaulk (talk) 14:06, 7 September 2010 (UTC))Reply
