Alexander Bankhead edit
The Broad Ax states that while Smoot was in Provo, he bought Alexander Bankhead.[1] This source is cited by other sources.[2] A Mormon historian friend of mine told me that George Bankhead didn't usually sell his slaves, so it would have been unusual for him to have sold Alex to Smoot.
