Expand edit

If anyone wants to expand this page (I can't for obvious conflict of interest problems), here are some potential resources to get going: Publishers Weekly on About's 10th anniversary Comicon.con on the 10th anniversary -- Nat Gertler (talk) 02:59, 20 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dear Nat Gertler, I added references to support the text. But, I did not change the text. Geraldshields11 (talk) 21:45, 21 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

24 Hour Comics Day edit

The name of the event About Comics founded was 24 Hour Comics Day, not 24-Hour Comic Day, as one editor just recast it (presumably on the correct instinct to link it to the 24-Hour Comic page. I'm avoiding fixing it myself out of COI concerns, but someone else should look at it and do so. --Nat Gertler (talk) 21:25, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

This has been fixed. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 01:10, 23 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Recent edits edit

In case anyone is wondering what's going on, recent edits have come from User:Coolboygcp, an editor who created an article I submitted for deletion. --Nat Gertler (talk) 06:03, 29 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Additional source edit

If anyone wants to do a little expansion, here is an interview I did for a Publishers Weekly podcast, primarily on About Comics. Perhaps it would make a good external link, being well more recent than the other sources. Obviously, I have a COI and will not add it myself. --Nat Gertler (talk) 00:29, 14 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Mainstream coverage of About Comics efforts on Green Book edit

The Guardian today covered the About Comics facsimile editions of The Negro Motorist Green Book in this article. I'd reckon that's sufficiently mainstream attention that it should be included in this article, but obviously, as the publisher, I have a stark WP:COI. If someone else thinks it's appropriate, there ya go! --Nat Gertler (talk) 17:06, 19 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Accuracy of short description edit

@Mooonswimmer: The recent updating of the short description to "American comic book publisher", while understandable, is inaccurate. The article is using an outdated description no longer on the official website. While the majority of the About Comics titles are comics or are closely related to the field, the majority of our sales are not; between the novels of Robert Mayer and Sol Weinstein, the Negro Motorist Green Book facsimiles, and other such items, non-comics make up the majority of both our unit and dollar sales. So "American book publisher" may be a more accurate description at this point. --Nat Gertler (talk) 02:11, 2 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello @NatGertler, thank you for the correction. I'll have to look into this so I can add a more accurate description, as well as recheck some of the other short descriptions I've added to other articles. Mooonswimmer 03:05, 2 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
