The 9 November 2008 change removing category American Scrabble Players on authority of cross-tables.com fails to recognize the limited historical scope of cross-tables' database. However, as shown in http://cross-tables.com/download/totalscrabble.pdf, he played in the 1985 and 1987 U.S./North American championship (finishing 29th of >300 in the latter).
