For proper alphabetical placement within categories, revising "listas=" to indicate "Rahmankawakibi, Abd" [the name will still appear as "Abd al-Rahman al-Kawakibi" in each category specified at the bottom of this discussion page]; adding Category:Date of birth missing, Category:Date of death missing [the sole details in the article are the years of birth and death], Category:Place of birth missing and Category:Place of death missing [again, no details other than the unexplained Category:People from Aleppo, which may indicate that the subject lived most of his life in Aleppo, but that the city was not necessarily his birthplace or place of death]—Roman Spinner (talk) 11:58, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

The name's alphabetical placement, according to www.damascus-online.com is "Kawakibi, Abdul Rahman al-"[1]. Since "listas=" and DEFAULTSORT function in a more-specific fashion with the elimination of spaces and symbols [other than the central separation comma and space], the name, for the purpose of sorting, is rendered as "Kawakibi, Abdalrahmanal", with "Abdalrahmanal" representing "Abd al-Rahman al-".—Roman Spinner (talk) 14:51, 3 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
