Inaccuracies from 2010 edit

At Wikipediocracy, the statement in the lede that the unit had the highest IQ among WW2 units was signalled as unsupported. I found this had been added (at the end of the article) in the second of two edits in 2010 by Piepbigs, and have removed it. I have also in 2 edits undone what remained of that editor's changes to the Combat Chronicle, which constituted his or her first edit. The division's taking Cologne is unsupported by the cited references so far as I can see; the story of the building marked with a red cross, likewise, but the "Genealogy" source has more pages that one has to move backwards and forwards to see, and one does talk of resistance from the Glockner factory, so I have replaced the story with a specific mention of that factory. Other changes in that first edit by Piepbigs, such as the division first entering Ash, Czechoslovakia, before Cheb, appear to have already been undone in the intervening years. Dale Robertson edit

I was reaading actor Dale Robertson's wikipedia page, and he served in the 97th Infantry Division in WWI, wounded twice, and recieved bronze and silver star.

Maybeyou should add this to the 97th ID page too? 2600:4041:6762:AD00:9D51:4544:93D9:2D1 (talk) 06:06, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
