Robinson Risner is only a notable commander once

The edit in question adds Robby Risner to the list of notable commanders when he is already listed as a notable commander. It has nothing whatsoever to do with abstruse uses of templates. The notable commanders are Risner and Martin, not Risner, Martin and Risner. --Lineagegeek (talk) 22:06, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

Then do remove that name, not reinstall it, hidden, as you did. What I did was merge the parameter that was mentioned twice (did you check CAT:DUPARG?). Or use Preview, it says in red what I am talking about. -DePiep (talk) 22:36, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

Lineagegeek, it has everything to do with the use of templates. If a template parameter gets defined twice, only one of the parameters will actually be used. Notice that "Gregory S. Martin" doesn't even appear in the article under your versions. That's because that entry isn't getting used because it's being masked by the second parameter. As it is, the first parameter was just cruft in the source. DePiep was pretty clear explaining the edit and it doesn't seem like you investigated as per the edit summary. DePiep's edit was a template usage correction. I'm glad that you are familiar with the subject of this article. Make sure the displayed names are correct and all will be fine. Can someone add this appropriately here?
