COI edit

I'm done for now. This is like a brick wall. I tried, but it is really hot here so I'll be back later. WP:COI, and editor is not getting it. Oh well, maybe everything they are adding will be verified on tomorrow's episode or some reliably sourced way?TeeVeeed (talk) 03:38, 26 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Here's the thing. You are violating a number of wikipedia rules by posting this again and again.

  • 1) you clearly have a biased point of view. Wikipedia requires articles be written without a conflict of interest, which means you can't edit your own entries, which you are doing. Even if Stephen Hawking had something to correct about his entry, it would not be allowed.
  • 2) you are not presenting neutral references and sources. You are just insisting "Hey, I donated that money to Haitian street kids." Unless and until there is a news article written about your donation that can be cited, we're not going to just accept your word for it. Or your tax forms for that matter...it has to come from a third party.
  • 3) you are editing warring by continuing to just undo and post the same crap over and over again. Eventually, this will get you banned from editing, so I suggest you listen.
  • .

  • 4) you have already posted your own url previously. Wikipedia is not here to promote your sites and causes. You have stopped doing this, so great!

  • I'm posting this in the hopes you actually will listen. But if not...hey, I'm here all day. I'm actually in prison, so I have nothing better to do than to hit undo again and again. 2601:602:2:986C:9D56:5C40:4F2E:43BB (talk) 03:25, 31 May 2016 (UTC) I have the facts to document I got 3 kids off the street in Haiti. Do you need to see my tax forms? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rstoneware (talkcontribs) 16:52, 30 May 2016 (UTC) If I get the lady who runs Haitian Street Kids Inc. to contact you, would that suffice? She has all the information-tax records of my donations and images of the children. I can even get the man who dedicates his life to the kids in Haiti or the street kids to contact you! How is a newspaper the holy grail of editing? I read false information plenty of times before in print. Facts are the most important; therefore, should I have HSKI contact you or correct the article? My objective is to help educate more street children. When people find out the truth, they will see I am really a nice guy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rstoneware (talkcontribs) 11:21, 31 May 2016 (UTC) noun: bias; plural noun: biases 1. prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair. I am not biased, I am presenting FACTS. How is this a conflict of interest when it is a fact? "I got 3 kids off the street in Haiti and back in school last December." I took a class in journalism and I know the best source is a primary source (backed with IRS tax forms, images and an unbiased third party (HSKI). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rstoneware (talkcontribs) 11:29, 31 May 2016 (UTC) Finally, you stated,"you are not presenting neutral references and sources." There are plenty of WIKI articles without sources sited and they are still posted. Why is a bias against me for telling the TRUTH? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rstoneware (talkcontribs) 11:31, 31 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

    Some edit questions edit

So- should "Homemaker" be capitalized? If "Correctional Officer"-is capitalized in the article, maybe Homemaker s/b too? (I'm not sure so I'm asking). Also--the bolding is gone from the cast names. Prob. conforms with MOS, but if there is no reason NOT to bold-- I liked the bold version better, also there are some bold remnants (Ashleigh...) that s/b unbolded if this is going to be a prob. JFTR, I am devastated that apparently, there is no hyphen in tater tots. One other thing--the "premise"-section, probably needs to be sectioned-off from some of the content in that section, and in preparation, or when the time comes in August for season two, some re-arranging needed for the article--especially in "premise" section? I'm going to undab and rm the banner there.TeeVeeed (talk) 15:02, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

OH-and another issue I am having is that there is no Wikidata identifier. I tried but it is pretty confusing and was deleted on "notability"-while "Naked and Afraid for example has a wikidata id.-So I'm confused there and any help would be great.TeeVeeed (talk) 15:41, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

I'm not going to be much help with extensive editing asoftware I'm a rookie. Also, I really think regarding the aliases, we've proven that they all used aliases because we've identified their real names, i.e. Tami Ferraiuolo went by Tami Ferguson on the show. Wlandon79 (talk) 15:58, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
Homemaker is not technically a title in my opinion, as it's not given by an organization. A Correctional Officer is, however. I removed the bold from the cast names as I was preparing to create pages for each cast member (but I'm a rookie at this, so I couldn't figure out how...maybe you do?) as we have so much information on them now. And more can be added, like what they did on their other shows and their personal lives. I'll be happy to bold them again if you'd like. No, there is no hyphen in "tater tots"...sorry for the disappointment. Wlandon79 (talk) 16:11, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
I made the names bold again, but I don't think it's necessary to bold names that have pages, like Barbra, because they're highlighted. Wlandon79 (talk) 16:21, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
TY for the response. (a tip don't forget to indent your replies!)Oh yeah I saw where your Jamey Noble article was speedy-deleted. I don't see how the Barbra article made-it but I'm not touching it. It could probably go like that (hit or miss) for most of the cast, except maybe Maryum? She is solidly notable as far as I can tell. And the Sheriff--I would have contested a deletion there, I'd say "notable". TY for re-bolding-- And also there is the issue of some re-writing for season two, so the "cast" section will probably have to be moved too, so that can be revisited. For conformity in the article, I'm still unclear on Homemaker, but lower-case seems to be the usual way--I'll try poking-around more on that too. TY for your sympathy on the Tater Tots issue. Actually, they need to be capitalized, since they are a brand name like Coke.TeeVeeed (talk) 16:25, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
I didn't create Barbra's page. The reason Jamey's page was deleted was because it was left blank. Wikipedia is so hard to edit. The others, I hadn't actually created pages for them yet. I don't particularly care about the capitalization one way or the other unless it's obviously wrong. Wlandon79 (talk) 16:39, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
    I don't know how to indent my replies lol Wlandon79 (talk) 16:42, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
    Also, tater tots aren't a brand name. They're a food item, just like "potato" wouldn't be capitalized. Wlandon79 (talk) 16:47, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
Haha-yeah, they really are a brand! I found-out about the cap when looking-up the hyphen deal--->https://terriblywrite.wordpress.com/tag/tater-tot/ I'm going to indent for you so you can see how it is done-it's very simple. (I think I did it right?).Ah-that explains it. You could keep articles in your sandbox 'til they are more-ready.TeeVeeed (talk) 17:07, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Article re-write for season two edit

So I'm starting this section for discussion about season two and how that will change the article. The premise section needs to be sectioned a little, (maybe we could move it to lede??)-and cast for season two moved. The 1st part could be done now I think (don't know about heading for non-premise content? or I would have done it myself-maybe synopsis of season one?-not sure).....but season two cast, even though they have been named, I don't know if it is too early to list them? Now is a good time to start brain-storming and playing-around with it. Also--this article has been read around a hundred thousand times, so it is pretty visible! Oh--and some stuff about how this was the "number one non-fiction cable hit--or whatever, would probably be good/reviews?TeeVeeed (talk) 17:19, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

I would suggest creating pages for each cast member, if you know how. And sectioning it off for different seasons abs beginning season 2 is a great idea. It's absolutely not too early to list the season 2 cast. Wlandon79 (talk) 18:42, 2 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
(I indented for you there)--Well the Barbra Roylance Williams article is up for deletion, (for good reason I think), so any/or most of the cast would probably meet the same fate unless there are enough reliable sources to support an article. Maryum and the Sheriff probably could be articles due-to good available secondary sources, but the rest, not yet. And the Season 2 are even MORE unknown as far as I know, so it would be pretty lopsided. There also is the contract that the cast has with A&E which forbids them from doing any publicity unless it is authorized by A&E, so they all are hindered from getting interviews etc. which could be used as secondary sources. Although they (A&E)-have spotlighted them individually on their Facebook page for the show-that is not usually considered the best source, but can probably be used somewhat.TeeVeeed (talk) 15:13, 3 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
