Why doesnt the German translation state the same thing as the English?

- Another point to raise would be is there a source for the division being called the 319th Static infantry division? I only ask considering the German translation calls it only a infantry division and the external links do so as well, none of them call the division the title this article uses; with that said am not denying that the division was assigned a static role just pondering the accureness of the title.--EnigmaMcmxc (talk) 23:00, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
- If it shouldn´t be clear; the term "static infantry division" is not a direct translation but simply the version used in the English language. The Germans named those divisions simply infantry division but gave it the suffix bodenständig, translated to static though there are other words avalable, which was in written form either (bodenständig) or abbreviated as (bo.). ...GELongstreet (talk) 17:37, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
- nonsense. Its name was not bodenständige 319. Infanterie-Division. Only 319. Infanterie-Division. What the character of a certain Wehrmacht-Heer division was, static or field division, is another question. --129.187.244.19 (talk) 14:07, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
